Anita Zielina is a journalist based in Hamburg, Germany and was, until recently, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of German magazine STERN, responsible for all digital products. In 2012, she was the first Austrian being named a Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, doing research on user engagement, media trends and innovation management. Before that, she worked in digital journalism for ten years at Austrian daily DER STANDARD, her latest job there being Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Anita focuses on creating a culture of change in her newsrooms, and is interested in all things media innovation.


Klaus Weinmaier is the founder and CEO of “The Engagement Lab” and an innovation facilitator and media strategist in Hamburg and Vienna. He is creating innovative products with and for media organizations and working with organizations on how to implement user centered innovation processes in their business and product development. Klaus was a Knight Journalism Fellowship Affiliate at Stanford University/Palo Alto in 2011/2012, doing research on scalable innovative revenue models based on user engagement in media. He is a Stanford-approved Design Thinking coach. Klaus is the co-founder of derStandard.at, Austria’s leading quality news platform, established in 1995.
